Neighbours daughter has got a new job and is handing over the company lease car next money to a colleague who is taking over the lease for the final eight months to see how she likes having a lease car over having a car privately.
Not bad, general grime (though the front wheels are an arse to clean, I have no idea what sticks to the black area of the wheel but I won’t miss cleaning them).
Front passenger wheel is kerbed bad as the side of the street she lives in has higher kerbs than my side.
Going to give it a final going over next week.
Engine bay needs cleaned and dressed,
Door rubbers need treated,
Exterior plastics need dressed,
Driver’s mat needs shampood as I think it could look better,
Exterior plastics (lower valance, scuttle panel, wiper arms, wing mirror mounts, etc...) to be dressed
Door surrounds to be dressed and rubber treated
Driver’s mat will get shampood as I think it’ll look come up nicer also interior surfaces will get a final anti bacterial wipe down
Steering wheel will get steam cleaned (if I can find where I put it), or scrubbed with some cleaner
Door rubbers will get treated to restore the suppleness and winterise them
Lovely clean door hinges
Door hinge rubber will get dressed
Rear wiper arm to be dressed

Svend, is there anything for those nasty scratches that shoes leave on door cards?

When you say scratches do you mean slight scuffs or quite deep scratches?
For scuffs you can use an all purpose cleaner as it may just be dirt or a mild scourer (not too hard) to dull the s cratches to blend them it, follow the length of the scratch. For deep scratches there are companies that can repair them by stippling in some colour matched plastic.

They are thankfully not deep, at least I can’t feel anything when touching the scratches. I’ll definitely give it a try as those scuffs bother me a little.

Man I certainly do miss carpeted door bottoms.

Try a microfibre with a liberal amount of all purpose cleaner and scrub down if you can’t feel anything and that will likely sort it. If it is a scratch- scratch then you should be able to feel some of it, if not, great , thoroughly clean by scrubbing with the microfibre then dress.

I wish I had carpeted door bottoms but they sound like a pain in the ass to keep clean in cars with tan interiors.

Nah, I had them in a Jag with a tan interior. The scuffs are generally only from when you hit the door with a heavy boot, which doesn’t happen all that often, just a quick shot of shampoo in a can with the little brush and they
cleaned right up.

Hm, that’s plausible. Probably also depends on how careful or careless people get out of their cars. Also another reason to buy an XJ at some point: S
